Basic Obedience For All Dogs
Course Outline
1st Week - Get to Know You
Educate in K-9 behavior and the Do’s & Don'ts of Dog training. Advise of proper materials to bring to the starting session i.e.: Collars, leashes etc.
2nd Week-Beginning of course
Proper Reward / Correction / Timing Skills Heel “On Lead” & “Sit”
3rd Week - Entry Skills
“Sit” – Sit Front back to heel position
4th Week - Down & Recall
Practice previous weeks skills - Heel, Sit, Sit front
5th Week - Practice Skills
Work on individual problems or issues. Practice Sit / Down / Stay / Heel / Recall and back to heel positions.
6th Week - Practice Skills
Work on individual problems or issues. Practice Sit / Down / Stay / Heel / Recall and back to heel positions.
7th Week - Practice Skills
Work on individual problems or issues. Practice Sit / Down / Stay / Heel / Recall and back to heel positions
8th Week - Graduation Awards Ceremony
1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place. Best in exercise / Individual Certificates

For each course you will receive an 8-week long high intensity obedience training session with a small classroom environment to focus more on your particular needs.
You will learn skills to better your canine awareness and become a better handler.
You will receive equal time and individual focus on the training field.
Each Course will provide you with in-depth understanding of behavior and how a dog thinks.
You will acquire an Alpha Role with your pet.
Training Materials
Your Dog & Yourself of Course ( just Kidding!!! ) Remember we will be having FUN!!
6’ ft Leather or Nylon Lead ( preferably leather); it is easier on your hands and provides better control.
Training Collar (Chain)-Large Links measured 2” larger than your dogs neck. No nylon collars- You will learn why.
Pet-Vari Kennel or other to contain your dog and provide a safe environment for him or her. A kennel should always be used at home to provide your pet with a sanctuary away from others.
Toys ( any Hard rubber Ball or other toy that the dogs shows interest in. NO Kong's please. You will learn why.
List of Verbal COMMANDS you will associate with each function. To keep it simple, it is recommended that you use the ENGLISH language. Sit / Down / Stay / Come / Heel are what you will need. It is very important to praise your dog excitedly when they do well “Good Boy-Good Girl”.
You should determine WHO will be working with the dog as the primary handler. This should be the one feeding the dog daily and the most committed. You are encouraged to bring others with you so they can observe and understand each lesson, if by chance the role changes.
